Rest in Peace: OLAN

I remember 2 years ago when I’m trying to compile the gen of Kasus, my friend A take Blorok to his place, far away from my place,  for mating her with Kasus. Then Blorok laying 10 eggs and hatch only 1 little chicken. I remember it was on August 5th, and on August 6th my little daughter was born, so they have almost the same age.

I expected a lot from Olan, when he grows up he seems like Kasus, his father and also grand-father, from the head, the face, and while walking. Planning is only in our mind, The One Who Coloring the Sky will decide. I’m planning to mate Olan with Blorok, then with his cousin, and then with his sisters. The fact is, Olan had a chance to mate with his daughter only (Babon D). But from many eggs that she’s laying there were left 3 eggs only, and hatch only 2 in the beginning of September 2013.
In the middle of August, I note that there was something wrong with Olan digestion, but in the morning when I feeding him he immediately ate it. Nothing much I could do in the morning because I have to go to work. Next day Olan looks more & more lethargic, medication was not take effect anymore. Finally, on August 25th, 2013, Olan died. What can I do? Nothing should be regret, the way of live rarely the same as our expectation.
Goodbye Olan…..

Look closer: (5) Kelabu

Kelabu is one of Kasus grand-child. Actually many of Kasus grand-child were cared by A’s friends, Kelabu is one of them. Some are growing up, but some were vanished, kicked by disease. Some young roosters were showing their quality. I will not repeat my hesitation which made my regret. When A said Kelabu will be sold, I immediately bought her.
Kelabu has small body, weight less than 2.5 kg I guess, but the way she fought I gave her two thumbs up. She’s not afraid to fight Gundul, even Gundul is much bigger than her.
2 months ago Kelabu was mated with Wido, and they have 5 little kids, they might be 2 males & 3 females.

One of them was playing around somewhere out there, i didn't have a chance to take a picture yet.

Look closer: (4) Ayam Gratisan

One of my wife’s relatives also raising rooster, and he started long time ago. Someday when we went to his place I commented one of his roosters, if I had place I want to raise its descendants, and the unexpected is he told me the story of that rooster and also propose me to take the little chicken. That time, accidentally, I commented the most expensive rooster in his farm, my fortune again.  But I didn’t have any place to raise chicken at all, so I didn’t take that opportunity.
Last year when I’m ready to raise chicken again, I ask him if I had a chance to take little chickens so I can raise them. It’s so unexpected, he let me take as many chicken as I like. So I take only 3 little chickens, when I ask him how much should I pay he didn’t answer, take it home he said. He’s so generous…
He usually sold that little chicken, less than 1 month, at least 150 thousand rupiah each. I think it makes sense, the father (Birma type) price is 20 million & the mother (Bangkok type) price is 5 million rupiah. I myself may not spend that amount of money for just buy a rooster, it’s too much for me. I’d better spent it for other important things.
These 3 little chicken became:
DINGKULEN

WIDO

BABON HITAM

Now,  babon hitam gratisan has 2 little chickens. She mated with Dingkulen, yes it is inbreed.

Look closer: (3) Kasus’ grand child

In purpose of compiling the majority gen of Kasus I took 2 little chickens from my friend, A. I expect will have male & female chicken but, again it’s my fortune, both are hen, I named Babon “B” and “C”. Only few weeks ago I saw how the male fighting, I hope the descendants of my hens will be like their relatives. Unfortunately, both of them were not laying any eggs yet. I mate Babon B with Dingkulen, while babon C is not mated yet. Again, because there are no more place to mating her.

Look closer: (2) Saigon type

After I bought Blorok, Bangkok type, I want to buy another type, Saigon type. Why? Because I never seeing it around in my village. Then I’m monitoring at Papaji forum, finally I find what I’m looking for. It’s young male & female Saigon type, age about 4 months, and affordable price. I contacted the seller, deal, then in 2 days I receive the package, in good condition. I named the rooster “JO-SON” and the hen “GUNDUL”.
Few months ago I mate them then I got 2 full-feather roosters & 1 bald hen, they are now age 4 months.

I’m planning mate Gundul with other rooster soon after the primary cage is done, hope can do it in this month.
